Two-year Anniversary of March 11, 2011

Two years ago, on March 11, 2011, Japan’s Tohoku coastal region was devastated by a 9.0  magnitude earthquake and tsunami.  The two years following these disasters have brought to the forefront incredible stories of resilience and generosity as Japan continues its recovery efforts.
The two-year anniversary of March 11, 2011 is a time for reflection and contemplation.  We mourn those who were lost and reflect upon what has been learned from the tragedy.
The disasters highlighted the good relations at all levels of society between the peoples of the United States and Japan.  Read the  JUSFC blogpost on a new JCIE report that finds US giving for the Japan disaster tops $710 million and is one of the largest responses in history.  CULCON will continue to promote public/private partnerships that will sustain a strong bilateral U.S.-Japan relationship.
