CULCON hosted a panel entitled “Addressing Challenges in U.S.-Japan Student Mobility” at NAFSA’s annual conference in San Diego in May, 2014. In light of the joint statement released by President Obama and Prime Minister Abe adopting CULCON’s goal of doubling two-way student exchange by 2020, Panelists Osamu Aruga of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Rosie Edmond of EducationUSA, and Arlene Jackson of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities discussed the challenges and opportunities afforded by this unprecedented visibility to all working in people-to-people exchange.
